Transitional Spring days beg for cute short skirts and strappy heels, but the realities of chilly mornings and frigid evenings require at the very least, light leg coverage. The perfect compromise? Provocative cotton over-knee socks. Pair them with platform heels, an oversized chunky-knit sweater and a beret for Parisian flair. ($120)

Back Down
Transparent silk + silk lace = super sexy. Brit designer Damaris has her finger on the throbbing pulse of today's lingerie enthusiast and this lovely lace-up bodysuit is an excellent example from the latest collection. A silky nothing with a built in demi-cup shell bra, the pièce de résistance is the sensational corset lace-up from the back to the derriere. Can we say butt-cleavage? But the most shocking thing about this piece is the super-low pricepoint. Snap it up while you can peoples! ($285)

Gypsy Woman
Part Stevie Nicks, part Lisa Bonet you can go in just about any direction with a quality piece like this cotton jersey dress. Pima cotton known for it's high quality and soft sheen, is considered to be the finest cotton variety by many because of it's extra-long staple. Garnished with crochet embellishments at the sleeves and neckline, it's a unique piece that should be worn, and worn often. ($683)

Dress Code
Alexis Carrington would never be seen wearing anything less than fabulous. As a female oil magnate, it was in her best interests to represent strength as well as femininity. Hence we got the 80s power suit, which has since morphed into a softer yet equally potent emblem such as this silk power dress from Marc by Marc Jacobs. Stripped of the overbearing shoulder pads and severe tailoring, the ensemble manages to be sweet, sexy, professional, and commanding at the same time. Lovey! ($458)

Mello Yello
The weather may still be a bit chilly, but the stores are stocked with Crayola-colored accessories in preparation for the warm spring days ahead. One of my favorites is this Italian made leather Furla shopper. Sleek, supple and elegant, the over-sized purse features silver tone hardware and a handy outer pocket, perfectly sized for your iPhone. ($795)

Tighty Whities
Someone I know confessed that she only wears white cotton panties and bras. Seems rather odd, but her rationalization had something to do with her strict and rather lazy practice of bleaching the hell outta every load of laundry. The emergency intervention began with the suggestion she dump the harsh chemicals in favor of natural non-chlorine bleach. Secondly she must invest in organic lingerie, something like this utilitarian soft cup bra and panty from Araks. Tiny ribbon bows decorate the straps of the 50s style bra, a shirred front on the low-rider bikini gives the ensemble a more modern edge. Baby steps. ($143)

Flat Foot
Kitten heels? Yes. But flats? They are not found in my closet, most likely because I have yet to meet these purple patent leather flats in person. The double ankle straps and the Kool-Aid color is where the charm lies; add vivre to a black ensemble or mix it up with other brilliantly colored pieces and accessories. ($60)

Clearly Beloved
Surprisingly, the local cobbler stocks a variety of products; usual items like suede cleaner and sometimes the unexpected clear golf umbrella. Even compact and on a rack, it had a sleek and futuristic quality, I purchased it on the spot. The threat of showers has only occurred twice this week, each time I was prepared with my invisibrella and the compliments rolled in. Maneuver through a sea of black umbrellas on a crowded New York City sidewalk with style and ease. ($30)

The Whys and Why Nots
Many women may look at a completely ridiculous piece of footwear such as this white open-toe leather ninja boot and question the wisdom of the Fashion Gods. While a tiny contingent of fashionable femmes already own atleast three outfits to match the Italian leather knee boots brilliantly. She knows these boots are handcrafted by skilled artisens; the superior construction coupled with proper care equals long-term enjoyment. Perfect for jaunts to Cannes, walks along the boardwalk, fencing, and ninja-assassin work. ($750)
