Straight from Mariah Carey's closet is this cuters orange butterfly top. Perfect for clubbing, throw it on over a pair of tight jeans or miniskirt and sky high pumps for Mimi's look. Comes complete with it's own gold tone butterfly brooch which hopefully is detachable. I've been trying to integrate more colors into my bland wardrobe, and burnt orange should do the trick. Designed for the ladies who love to stand out in a crowd. ($126)

Pardon My French
Throw out those horrid velour track suits so trendy from a few years back, and pick up something a bit more sophisticated to keep warm and cutesy like this french terry pullover. Unlike ordinary terry cloth used for towels and such, french terry loops on one side and has a smooth finish on the other. Feels like a thick knit jersey, very soft, comfy and best of all, stretchy. Lounge about the house or run weekend errands in style without looking like a sloppy miss. Perfect for casual Fridays too, this one's on my holiday list fer sure. ($114)

Spot On
Few know knitwear better than the Scots, in fact they have a saying, 'there is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing.' Enter Johnstons of Elgin, they've been in business for over 200 years producing the finest cashmere and woolen knitwear this lovely spot cardigan is no exception. Knit from a sumptuous silk and cashmere yarn, the pink spots and trim with the tiny pink pearl buttons make for a luxurious holiday gift. (£80/$168)

Bamboo-ya
Bamboo fabric, besides being sustainable and naturally antimicrobial is also incredibly soft. Perfect for baby clothing and yoga gear, designer Lara Miller has created a hand-loomed cardigan from this wonderful grass textile. Ms. Miller seems to have tipped her hat to avant-garde designer Yoji Yamamoto, known for his drapey, oversized silhouette and billowing garments. Designed to be worn upside down as well for yet another intriguing shape, you'll get tons of mileage out of this lovely wrap. ($155)

Sweater Girl
Curl up in front of the fire with a good book, a glass of wine and a cozy oversized cashmere sweater. Guaranteed to be one of the hottest looks this winter, the ingenious garment can also be worn as a sweater dress. Play with texture, fit, and length all in one handy garment in this season's it color, gray. Cocoon yourself for a night out on the chilly town in this smoulderingly sexy mini with handy front pockets, and an asymmetrical draped collar. Stay warm with boots, flats for day, platform pumps as shown, belt, layer or wear alone, take your pick — this baby is versatile! ($898)

Sweater Luck Tomorrow
Time to step up your sweater game with this loose fit, kimono-sleeve sweater jacket. Especially great for those brisk mornings that turn into warm afternoons, keeping you toasty without the bulk of a jacket. A funky twist on the traditional cable-knit sweater, the slouch buttoned collar and wide long sleeves add flair to your fall wardrobe. Smokey gray is this season's color of choice according to the fashion trend forecasters. I predict that this piece will remain in vogue for many seasons to come. ($348)

Sweet and Lowdown
Not usually one to go gaga for a celebrity clothing line, I've got to give it up to Ms. Lopez for her Sweetface Fall 2007 collection. Every girl needs a sexy one-shoulder top in her closet, and Jenny from the block knows how to bare shoulders with the best of them. The blue version of this enchanting jersey top is infinitely sweeter than this ivory color, but it hasn't yet hit the stores. Wait for it! Pair with skinny jeans, open toe heels, and an armful of bangles for full effect. Lovey! ($248)

Wrap Party
Diane von Furstenberg practically invented the wrap dress, and she's taken the same aesthetic and applied it to this silk wrap top. Refined smocking at the 3/4 length cuffs, and a ruched collar, all in an incredible teal blue color makes this the perfect transitional day-to-night top. Tie the belt in front or back and get ready to show off the 'girls' with some major league cleavage action. Pair with skinny pants as shown, or a pencil skirt and spectator pumps for that lipstick librarian look. A enduring addition to your closet, this blouse will remain relevant for at least 10 years. ($244)

Enter the Dragon
Don't put away those summer clothes just yet, with unseasonably warm temperatures this week in NYC, you can still rock the short sleeve tops. Pop with color until the winter doldrums set in just about every color in the rainbow is represented in this brilliantly excessive silk Balenciaga dragon blouse. At first glance, the multitude of conspicuous prints, frills, and ruffles seems a bit over the top. Most definitely for the woman who doesn't mind being the center of attention, pair with a pencil skirt, 4-inch heels and a hat only Isabella Blow could love. (£1,105/$2,254)

Bird's The Word
Sheer toile fabric has been around since the 1880s in a variety of colors and prints, typically consisting of only two colors and depicting country scenes or floral motifs. The classic design has been re-imagined in this dainty bird print. Vintage details like the elbow-length shirred sleeves and built in waist tie to be arranged in a flirty bow make this cotton/silk blend toile blouse the cat's meow. ($150)

A Little Birdie Told Me
"No matter how old or fat you get, your shoulders will remain fabulous." Which is why every woman regardless of age or size should have at least one asymmetrical shoulder baring blouson. Vintage inspired line Voom has created this elegant silk top with gorgeous Kimono-style fabric depicting parrots and exotic blossoms. The generous sleeves and drapey cut conceal flesh without sacrificing style or femininity. ($196)

Ms. Pac-Man
This lively yellow and black polka dot cropped cardigan is just darling! Reminiscent of the 80's arcade game, the polka dot pattern has actually been around since the 1840s and it hasn't lost its popularity yet! Versatile enough to pair with sexy black wiggle dress to Sunday best, you'll be surprised at how many wardrobe options are revealed. ($129)

Can You Dig It?
Plucked straight outta Willona Woods' closet, this retro-styled tunic is groovy man! The honeycomb design along with the cut, contrast striped trim and button detail are 70s redux. Incorporate words like "sucka" and "jive turkey" into your vocabulary. Skip the bell bottoms and pair with skinny jeans or mellow out poolside as a cover up. Lovey! ($62)

The Silky Way
If M.C. Escher had designed women's clothing, I'm sure he would've decorated a blouse exactly like this. The intricate construction includes contrast stitches, cross stitches, silk chiffon pleats and shirring. Whether you pair this silk charmeuse blouse with jeans or a pencil skirt, my only suggestions are fire-engine red lipstick and heels the same color. ($168)

Cat Woman
There's something slightly subversive about this cat covered cardigan. Which is probably exactly what the designers of Swedish brand Mjolk had in mind. Made of pure, super fine 8 gauge wool, Dr. Huxtable may have loved it, but you should vamp it up Dita Von Teese style. Mix in a black silk bustier, wiggle skirt, pompadour, superchunk Dior platforms, fishnets, a dash of naughty and smidge of spice. A bewitching look for Amy Winehouse methinks.($335)

Yellow Fever
Perfect for a Manhattan roof-top party, this ruched silk tube top from Arden B is cool mustard sophistication. It has a sweetheart neckline, complimentary to bust sizes A to D, and a frilly silk ruffled panel front and center. Pair with denim, earthy arm bangles, dangly earrings and super-hot high heel mules. Fully lined in cotton with a side zipper, this top will get you through many hot summer nights. Just make sure you're not photographed twice in this memorable number. ($68)

Hot Tamale!
Do empire waist tops make you look preggers? The answer is mostly yes, I don't believe that they are flattering for most body types but there are a few exceptions. This hot spaghetti strap top has more of a drop empire waist; the ruching is a few inches below the bust instead of directly beneath. Other great details are the keyhole back, adjustable straps, ruffles, and the gold thread stitches. Hotness. ($128)
